About Us
Accomplishments
Three decades of faithful partnership, measured in lives changed.
30+ Years of Impact
Every milestone represents lives changed through faithful partnership.
A Friendship Begins
Tom Graves meets Henry Mugabe at a conference in the United States. A conversation becomes a lifelong friendship — and the seed of JourneyPartners.
First ZimJourney Trip
Tom visits Zimbabwe for the first time, leading the inaugural immersion trip. The experience transforms his understanding of partnership and service.
Organization Founded
JourneyPartners is formally established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, built on the principle of partnership over charity.
First Clean Water Wells
The first bore wells are drilled in rural communities, providing clean water to hundreds of families. The community-build model is established.
Kutenda Children's Home Opens
Kutenda — meaning "to walk" in Shona — opens its doors to orphaned and vulnerable children. Led by Zimbabwean house parents, it becomes a model of community-driven care.
School Construction Program
The first community-build school block is completed. Communities provide labour and land; JourneyPartners provides materials and coordination.
Sanyati Baptist Hospital Partnership
JourneyPartners begins regular supply deliveries to Sanyati Baptist Hospital, supporting rural healthcare in one of Zimbabwe's most underserved regions.
75+ Trip Participants
More than 75 Americans have now experienced a ZimJourney immersion trip, returning home transformed and becoming lifelong advocates for Zimbabwe.
COVID-19 — Partnerships Hold
The pandemic halts trips and reduces donations, but partnerships endure. Kutenda never closes. Wells keep flowing. The hospital keeps serving.
25,000+ Lives Impacted
More than 25,000 people across Zimbabwe have been directly impacted through clean water, education, healthcare, and the care of Kutenda. The journey continues.
